Sophisticated monitoring equipment is used on all surgical patients to continually assess patient status.
The doctors of Westlake Village Animal Hospital are trained in the latest surgical techniques. We offer a full range of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures, such as spinal, knee or hip surgery. Our state-of-the-art Digital X-Ray and Ultrasound equipment provides the highest level of detail in diagnosing these injuries to determine the type of procedures required for your family pet.
Digital X-Rays are one of the most important tools a veterinarian can use. Not only are digital x-rays better for the health and safety of the pet, they are faster and more comfortable for your pet. Digital x-rays can reveal many problems that are not visible to the naked eye and help determine any hidden ailments more precisely. Digital x-rays are environmentally friendly and use no chemicals. The digital image is captured electronically, so there is no need to develop the x-rays and thus eliminating harmful by products.
Diagnostic Ultrasound for pets allows our veterinarians to look inside the abdomen of an animal so that they can quickly and non-invasively investigate health conditions. Abdominal ultrasound can be used to examine: ovaries, adrenal glands, kidneys, bladder, prostate, uterus, stomach, liver, gall bladder, spleen, and intestines. Our veterinarians can examine the cause of health issue such as an unexplained weight loss, vomiting, elevated kidney values, abnormal urination, and possible tumors. Our doctors cannot look inside the lungs because an ultrasound is impeded by air, however, our veterinary doctors can examine the heart and look for abnormalities such as excessive fluid and abnormal size or rhythm.
